SWIU has published the SWIU Pocket Mentor for urology residents. This 106-page wire-bound manual addresses clinical decision making, operating room techniques/case logs, organization/productivity, gender
issues, maintenance of physical/mental well-being, and training/career options, with a bibliography of urologic and surgical textbooks.

SWIU expresses its personal thanks to Dr. Gloria Massey, the hard-working chair of this extensive project. The first edition of this manual was sent in September 2002 to all members, including all female urology residents whose membership is underwritten by Bayer Corporation. Program directors of U.S. residency programs in urology also received copies of the mentoring manual.
